- AT&W says to write the current settings to non-volatile ram so that
- they will become the power-up defaults. On a US Robotics modem,
- &K0 disables data compression which you wouldn't normally want to do.

- Unless you have to change modem settings for different services, I
- think putting your settings in the power-up defaults is the best
- way to go. You can never be sure your modem init string will be
- sent everytime the modem gets powered down and up, or an ATZ is
- entered or you run a different terminal program.
